Time to start thinking about this year’s Benchrest Competition.
Last year saw the first competition between three clubs concluding with a shoulder to shoulder shoot off to decide the Benchrest Champion. 1st Paul Salmon. 2nd Mike Smith. 3rd Paul Read.
We did have some teething troubles over the last year, hopefully ironed out for this year.
The competition this year will be made up of 7 rounds held at your own club with results sent in by listed deadlines to enable results to be posted on SWEFTA web site.
Same as last year open class for rifle and no restriction on scope magnification. How an individual club runs their round will depend on access to their range and how many they can accommodate to shoot at any one time.
The shoulder to shoulder shoot off will be run to SWEFTA rules regarding timings, rests and scoring but still open class rifle and scope. To qualify for the shoot off you would have to have competed in at least five of the seven rounds, from that it will be the top shooters from each club to compete in the shoot off, exact number from each club will depend on the host club and how many they can accommodate to shoot 3 cards on the same day.
