SWEFTA Summer league round 2 scores

Sunday the 3rd of May saw Duchy Shooting Association host round two of the South West England Field Target Association Summer league. Sunday saw 33 competitors on the FT course and 40 taking part in HFT with shooters travelling from as far away as Wales and Dorset. Duchy was very happy to welcome so many shooters and the numbers were boosted by two ungraded shooters in FT and seven in HFT bringing new blood into the sport.

The weather was reasonably kind with light rain in the morning which dried up and then one heavy shower in the afternoon. Overall top score in Field Target and winner of AA grade was Duchy’s Steve Franklin with a score of 38/40. Indeed all 4 grades were won by a Duchy or Bodmin FTC member. Well done to Steve, Nigel Gape, Jack Buchta and Graham Watts – a good day for Cornwall FT shooters! Top FT springer shooter was Ben Ridgeway with 31 and in Open Class Paul Read took the honours. Top score in HFT was Paul Salmon winning AA grade with 75. Dave Perks and Neil Taylor won A and B grades respectively both with 69. Piston Class was won by Damien Hewings of Dartmoor with a very impressive 73. Kevin Jackman won Open Class with 77.

Oh, and the pasties sold out! Thankyou!

It’s not just about top scores

As usual, please let me know if you see something which doesn’t look right. These links will be valid all year, so please keep a note of them if you want to check at any time. However, I will take the sheets offline while I’m updating scores, so no sneak peaking until I send a message the scores are ready. If you make a mistake please enter the correct score in the grey triangle and ask a 3rd party to initial the correction. If it’s not clear what the correct score for that target should be you will receive zero. New shooters will be graded after their third league shoot, we run a rolling 12 grading system so last year’s scores are included. Until then their scores will appear in the Ungraded tab, and will not reflect in team scores.
