I arrived early to find the East Devon course already busy with shooters signing in, chatting, checking their rifles and all the usual activity that go on before a shoot.
Prompt on 9.00am there was a briefing and off we all went. Conditions were really pleasant, but a whispy little bit of wind in the woods, combined with some chilly air did their best to beat us with a couple of the FT targets showing misses in all directions around the kill.
A really well laid course with Jeremy and his team proving to be excellent hosts.

Thanks to Jeremy, his crew and the weather gods it turned out to be a great days shooting. All the effort the East Devon crew put into creating the courses resulted in some really great scores in FT and HFT and excellent participation with 68 cards being handed in.
Tony Fouracres cleared the OPEN FT course, not missing a single target – nice one Tony! – and Steve Franklin took top score for FT with a 38, closely followed by Simon Evans with 37. Julian Head (Buckley Wood) managed 1st place for FT Recoiling with a 23. HFT brought in some great scores also: Mark Donnelley (South Dorset) took top spot for PCP by pulling a fantastic 78 out of the bag and Damien Hewings right behind Mark with 77 (if only he had checked his air before those first 3 targets????). The HFT Recoiling tie of 71 between yours truly and John Farbrother, was decided when John killed fewer eliminators than I.
All in all a great venue, great shoot and not forgetting the great field canteen.
Thanks all see you in a couple of weeks at Shebbear – 30th August for the rescheduled Round 7
