This may well be a farewell shoot, not to the South Dorset club, but to the ground where they have been for the past fourteen or fifteen years, if my memory serves me well (which it rarely does).
Conditions were ideal, with bright sunny skies and a gentle but playful breeze doing its worst all day. Turn out seemed good, but as this was my first competition in many years, it was hard to judge.
The course was, as Dorset always is, cheeky and challenging, with pellets landing in seemingly impossible places at times. This didn’t seem to trouble Simon Evans too much though, as he posted the top score of 37.
Thanks must go to Terry, Rodder’s, Pete and the rest of the team for an excellent course and well run shoot, and we must not forget all those in the kitchen.. the food was great, especially the lemon drizzle cake, which was excellent!
